Benefits of Tiny Town Living.

There are some benefits to tiny town living. It's indeed a place where everyone knows your name.
Which in turn means it's also a place where everyone knows your business.

The word is out that we are buying this old house just outside of town.
Opinions are also flying around as to how good of a decision it was for us.
There seems to be two fences.  A fantastic idea.  Or a horrendous idea.

"Oh I always loved that house!"

"What in the world would you want to buy that old scary house for?"

On the positive end of things:
Our friend Tom, stopped by and took some fantastic pictures of our big scary house.  So I thought I would share them on the eve of us finally becoming the new owners of this new 'old' house of ours.

While it maybe scary to some.  To us, it's a dream worth keeping.

For David growing up just down the road, it was a house he always had an interest in.  For me, a two-story home with a wrap-around porch has always been my 'dream home'.

While looking at these pictures, I sometimes see all the work ahead of us, and other times, I see it completed and as beautiful as I hope it will be.

Thank you, Tom.  We appreciate your pictures and your words of encouragement.
Cheers to 1 PM tomorrow!

  1. I fall into the "I've always loved this house camp". I have a funny story about it too...one evening I was coming home from down south and as always took a glance at the house. At that time there was a picnic table under an apple tree nearish the road. I saw two deer standing by the picnic table looking up, hopefully, at the apple tree where a large racoon was knocking apples off the branches. I almost ran off the road I was laughing so hard....

  2. Wow! It must be a proud feeling to be living in a 1909 house. I wonder how many families have lived in there before you. You are right about living in a small town – everybody knows your name. Think of it as being friends with the whole town. Another thing, your house is not scary at all. Maybe, mysterious is the right term. I like mysterious stuff; they make me think and never stop until I get the some clues. Keep the blog updated. We'd love to see the progress you've made in the renovation. Take care!
