Exterior dilemma.

Well, the insurance underwriter came out for a visit.  They are considering dropping our insurance, due to major concerns about the exterior.  But hopefully our agent will give them our plan and all will be well again.

That call gave David the incentive, despite the weather, to start on the exterior.

The major concerns they have: the siding, the roof, the porch.
The rusty pipe off the north side to name a few.
Can you blame them?
Honestly, no.

One of the drawbacks I guess of buying a 'fix-er-upper'.
The siding is ordered.  The roof is close to being ordered.
So, while we wait on material and better weather, David decided to start on the porch.

Stage one, get rid of the huge bushes around the house.
Once the bushes are removed, the porch roof will be braced and the dilapidated concrete will be removed.
After that, we will rebuild the porch.

I'm using we very loosely.

 Invasive bushes.
Wreck havoc.

The entire back porch which wasn't originally enclosed is coming completely off and will be rebuilt as well.

Our agent is going to try to get us a few months, and see if they will make another visit and see our progress, so cross your fingers.

On the interior page.
David's stone is almost completely grouted.

Don't tell him, but I love it.

  3. Dave's Stone work is awesome! I wouldn't worry much about the insurance company. They will get it together. They must know by now that an A-1 job is in progress.
